Disadvantages of Social Networks for Children

- Teens who use Facebook more often show more narcissistic tendencies while young adults who have a strong Facebook presence show more signs of other psychological disorders, including antisocial behaviors, mania and aggressive tendencies.
- Daily overuse of media and technology has a negative effect on the health of all children, preteens and teenagers as well as by making them more susceptible to future health problems, such as eye disorder.
- Social networking affects children to the extent that social networks sometimes encourage interpersonal relations that are unrealistic. A child's online interactions with people who could influence them in a negative manner may expose them to quite serious threats and potential dangers.
- Sometimes a child's online social interactions may not be appropriate where they are unknown gives them the opportunity to say anything so it can effect in bad habit.
- Face to Face Connections are endangered. Children are at higher risk because those years are when they are learning to interact with others or build and maintain relationships. The children in these age groups that use a social network, 41 percent spend their time posting messages. They are not spending this time in face-to-face interactions with their peers or others nor are they developing the necessary social skills for future success.

Yes, social networking have also disadvantages especially for children. Most of the kids or teens are become addicted of using different social networking sites especially Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
